Look Fine on the Picket Line @ Temporary Arts Project
I had the opportunity to create a pop up show at Temporary Arts Project (TAP), an artist's run space in Southend-on-Sea. I created an installation based on my fascination with the way advertising appropriates and manipulates imagery. Shiny, faux-advert posters adorned one wall, while photocopies of embroidered underwear from a previous work covered the floor, to be trampled by visitors to the show. Attendees merged with fake consumers, present in two video works projected over the collage posters. The show aimed to explore the adoption and watering down of feminism by the mainstream media.
